In this week’s Sunday School lesson, the writer talks about “thin places.” He gets the idea of “thin places” from an article on the internet (www.thinplace.net). In the internet article that writer described “thin places” as “places where the veil between this world and the Otherworld is thin.” My thoughts are that the internet article is a bit too mystical. However, in a Christian context, I do understand what is meant by “thin places.”

The writer of the Sunday School lesson draws the conclusion that the gathering of the saints for worship represents the best opportunity for us to be in the “thin place.” God ordained that it was a good thing for His children to gather together for the sole purpose of worshiping Him. Hey, if God sets something in action, we probably ought to pay attention. If we don’t, we might be missing something that takes us to that “veil between this world” and the throne of God.

If you haven’t been to church in a while, or seldom attend a church, try it this Sunday. I have a hunch that whatever is eating at your life can be healed in God’s “thin place.”
